“Josh is the type of professional who pays immediate attention to detail thus personalizes each session with the utmost respect and professionalism. He’s always consistent, focused, and motivated to assist us making our family feel extremely valued. He takes notes, suggests options, and uses ALL of his resources to improve the situation that we are experiencing. He paraphrases previous sessions to confirm resolution or verify if the situation requires additional attention. He’s very punctual, polite, flexible, and knowledgeable. This makes him easy to talk to and easy to schedule an appointment with. He also has a way of positively directing conversations to allow for an easier resolution.”

“This is, by far, the best counselor I have had! I have had many, but Joshua is the best. I’m continually amazed how engaged he is in our conversations and seems to really “get me,” and I’m not an easy person to get to know. I like how he offers sound advice and practical actions that can be taken. He really seems to meet you where you are in life and help you improve from there. Been seeing him for a brief time but has already made huge improvements in my life. Definitely recommend!!”

“It’s only been a few weeks since I started working with Joshua Beavers, but I can already see massive changes in the way I look at my life and my feelings. He is big on positive reinforcement and focusing on what’s working for me, rather than spending the whole time focusing on the negative aspects of my mental health. He is quick to respond, very thorough, and incredibly encouraging. I highly recommend him to anyone serious about recovering from mental illness.”

He is very neutral in that he does not take sides in our issues but asks questions and helps to guide us through them. He is very attentive to our needs and very flexible with our schedule as well. I would recommend Josh to anyone.”

“Out of the diverse handful of therapists I’ve had sessions with, Joshua is the only counselor I’ve ever had who finds an effective balance between the extremes of “helpful, knowledgeable professional” and “just a person like me.” He is timely and well-worded with thoughtful responses, none of which have ever seemed mindlessly repetitious, irrelevant, or patronizing; The polar opposite of my past experiences in therapy in the best way possible. Despite his fantastic use of the messaging features offered at BetterHelp, I still suggest you opt for phone and/or video call sessions, as you will cover much more ground this way. Even if you normally have anxiety or social aversion surrounding these features as I do personally, I still highly recommend you at least give them a try. Not once in our conversation did Joshua’s responses give me the impression I was being judged or scrutinized harshly, so I didn’t feel the same tension I associated with face-to-face counseling. He does a remarkable job of making you feel at home. In short, I couldn’t have hoped for a better first experience with BetterHelp.”
